I can't wait until Romney wins and gas prices mysteriously plummet.

Just heard on the news a lot of independent gas stations are closing since they refuse to charge that much. Also there could be a shortage for some reason. Prices will continue to go up... wonderful.

Even though the average price of regular is about $4.59 here in San Diego, I did find an out of the way Valero station in a big truck stop area that had regular at $3.99!!!

That's less than what I was paying two months ago! Hopefully it will last, though I doubt it.

The difference between 89 and 93 is $.10

Usually its a $0.10 difference between 87 and 89 and then a $0.25-$0.40 difference between 89 and 92/93.

See it a lot. The gas stations don't want to pay the fee associated with the card so they offer discounts for paying with cash.

Power Outage related to Cali surge in gas prices

surprised no one has mentioned the news

http://www.wrcbtv.com/story/19751983...fall-next-week

Quote:
The dramatic surge came because of a power outage Monday at a Southern California refinery reduced supply in an already fragile and volatile market, analysts said, but the refinery came back online Friday and prices were expected to stabilize by next week.

Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst at GasBuddy.com, predicted the average price could peak as high as $4.85.

"There is some relief in sight but probably not for a couple of days. Early next week is when we may see some more significant declines ... but at retail prices, prices may climb for the next two to three days before they start to come down," he said.

How does it feel to be screwed by big oil?

Notice that it's just California, and it's happening immediately in front of an election between an incumbent Democrat and a weak Republican challenger?

What a coincidence!

I don't think it makes a difference in California. It's going to vote democrat either way.

At the end of the day it won't make a difference, but the republicans that control big oil get a nice laugh amd a few million extra dollars.
