Need help with 328i part number
I think there is supposed to be a metal piece behind the armrest of the back seat. There is a flap that covers the hole between the cabin and the trunk, but there is nothing to keep the armrest from being pushed back into the trunk area.
I'm looking at RealOEM to try to find the piece, but I'm having problems identifying it. It may be 10, but I'm not sure. Also, I don't know what all I need to fill the hole properly. |

Nope, no metal piece. Sounds like you have a ski pass...or the 'ski pass mod.'
You'll just have the leather flap with velcro, a foam rubber piece, and then the trunk liner (which you could cut out to complete the pass)

that's what he's saying, someone took out the ski pass or just knocked out the panel.
So OP correct you are missing something. On your 323i did your car come with optional split folding rear seats? The one you linked to is folding. sedans have non-folding standard.

Sorry...yes, that's what I meant, OP. You used to have a metal piece but someone removed it. You can't get one back there unless you weld something in...and there's no reason to.

Now that I look at it again and compare to my '99 323i, it appears someone has punched out the metal plate. Where the 323i has a plate that looks perforated (and has a molded piece to keep the armrest flush with the back of the seat,) the perfs on the 328i are bent. Now it looks like I will need to buy the molded piece and fab up a metal backing. That is if I don't want to keep the access to the trunk. Last edited by kcult; 10-07-2012 at 01:45 PM. |
