Claybar Quality
I know in this world you get what you pay for, but nonetheless, does anybody have any idea of the quality of these claybars? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Pract...ht_2933wt_1163
Can you get a bad quality claybar? I just want to get one as a test. |

I've heard that there are only a few companies making clay bars, but I prefer to know the vendor/manufacturer. I would be afraid of one being too coarse that it scratches the clearcoat, or too sticky that it is a pain to use.

if you're just starting out get the meguires or mothers kit from any local auto shop (will prolly get hate for it but whatever). they work wonders if you paint is still in pretty good shape. you'll only end up using it once or so a month depending on how clean you keep your car. just make sure you wash it really well before claying it

Meguiar's, Mother's, Sonus, Zaino, et al get their clay either from Japan (Source Chem. Inc. one of Japan's biggest clay manufacturers) or from the US licensed manufacturer, Clay Magic, a brand name used by Auto Magic, Auto Wax Co (the U.S. patent holder) The exceptions to this patent monopoly are Nanoskin Surface Prep Towel / Autoscrub Foam Pad “Nanoskin Surface Prep Towel” - http://www.autopia.org/forum/autopia...rep-towel.html |

For those of us who done have an orbital sander, or "copious amounts of lube", claybaring may still be easier!
