The irony is that, in California, it is illegal for a company to force time off in that fashion.

Actually, it looks like I'm wrong. At one point, Sun Microsystems was trying to implement some sort of mandatory PTO policy, and they backed down as a lawyer for the state of CA argued that it was illegal. I don't believe that is still the case; perhaps changed when the governator was implementing all of the state employee furlough days.

oh We're normally really good about things like that. Won't even random drug test because it's a grey area in the law.

Why the hell is the clipper card so complicated?
I bought a card... and added $40 cash to it at the same time
...
Can't just use the $40 that is loaded there to buy a 8-ride pass... have to make an additional purchase online
...
And that 8-ride pass does not come through for 3-5 days... w...t...f....

In what fashion? At Laney College, I know there are mandatory days off without pay for the teachers and staff. It's spun off as mandatory vacation by some, but really it's just another budget cut measure.

Yup, that's the term, furlough.

I don't think it makes the scooter anything, but I do think it makes you something.

it's a '84 Yamaha QT50 (qt...sound it out...cutie)
50cc two stroke kick start single sided swing arm shaft drive with a single speed centrifugal clutch/transmission.
It should be a moped but it doesn't have pedals so they classify it as a noped which means I have to register it and have insurance on it

I picked it up for $50, but it hadn't ran in 10+ years. put gas and oil in it, made a key and it actually fired up and ran.

So far I've:
Replaced spokes and straightened rear wheel
New tires
New seat cover
Lubed all cables
Changed the oil
New top end bored out to 60cc
Custom intake
New power intake reeds
Bigger carb
New gaskets
Stiffer clutch springs
New front fender from a Honda
New brake shoes
Exhaust
New rear end with taller gearing
Remove oil pump and converting to Pre-mix
Performance intake

Stock it did 25mph on flat and level ground. Once I get it back it should do about 45-50.

I'm way too into this thing :facepalm

I'm sure you're also well dressed, living in a really small apartment, and your car is rarely driven at this point. Yeah, sounds pretty SF to me.

Sunday is the best day for me to meet up. No work, no school, no robot work, so I'm just at home getting fat and doing hw.
