Bang for buck

Alright where to start, I am looking into getting a e46 m3. And I was curious as to which route is more sufficient for power, turbo or supercharger. I want to run around 550 hp. Or is it possible to get close to that with the car being n/a? I have also heard of people doing the e85 map in the m3s, is that just a rumor or is it possible? I'm new to this tuning world so any help would be great thanks.

Turbo. You'll hate yourself later. Want V8 power delivery? Buy a V8. Want a car that feels boosted? Turbo an S54 and hold on right while it blows the tires off @ 50mph.

Power from an engine never designed to make it in a chassis never designed to handle it. It will more than likely never be reliable, and it will cost way more for the same speed versus a solid axle v8 car.

And no, you won't make anywhere near that on E85. Probably not with a supercharger either, from what I've seen. Not without running it to the ragged edge, which once again decreases reliability.

So low to mid 400's to the wheels. Honestly, for that price. Wait on the new turbo kits coming out for the S54. I believe they're putting down more power for the same money. I think I recall around 500whp. I could very well be wrong.

Edit: I was sort of wrong. About $9k and 440whp. Maximum PSI's kit is the one I was referring too.

are there any good lsx powered cars that originally came with the engine though? yeah the corvette z06 but the interior is just absolute garbage.
