Thinking about buying an M5 as a "family car". I wonder how infested their forums are with these people.

You guys clearly do have a clue about what a clean look is...that rust is straight fire flame.
OP i think you should defiantly rust that hood and maybe throw a cinder block through windshield and drive around like that. supa cleannnnn

E39 M5's are just as affordable (up front) as an E46 M3. To get away from it you better step it up to at least an '08+.

OP, if this isn't a troll, then I'd just say a few things.
First, are you a moron? Really? No insult intended, but if you are, I'd probably respond slightly differently...so it's a serious question. I'm not saying you are one...just asking. Second, no need to do all the work you're planning. You can just piss on the car without removing it...as I think if you get some on the fender, it will look cleaner, in that it will be a blended, purposeful look...not like you just happen to have a rusted hood. If you want the look sooner, I know from a related experience, that if you just spritz gasoline on the hood from a spritzer bottle and ignite it, eventually you'll remove all the paint. I'd probably remove the hood and its insulation first though. Gently spray the fenders so you don't ignite so much gas that you burn your car up. Also, to protect your rusted finish, I'd recommend that you sand it down thoroughly, coat it with a few coats of primer, body, and then clear coat.

WTF?
You really want to do it? Spill brake fluid on the hood to remove the paint. Then pee/puke/****/fap what ever you want to do on the hood. Then burn the car. People come here to ask how to repair a paint chip on the hood so the rust doesnt form and you are asking to rust the whole hood. lol. Man, I need to sell my car. The day I actually see an e46 with a rusted hood, I'm going to put in on sale. Want to buy it OP? I have a couple of paint chips on the hood, that will help you in rusting the hood sooner.

Of course it looks bad.
It's a rusty ass hood. And what's the point of starting a thread explicitly asking for opinions then getting angry when people don't agree with you.

i can honestly say that it looks like garbage. and if i saw that car parked in that setting i would honestly 100% think to myself (i feel so bad for the owner of the e46 that caught fire. poor guy)
i have 2 bmws both lowered. i like lime green wheels. and i have a pink tree air freshener in each one hanging front and center. i still say that seriously looks like CRAP.

Keep your OEM hood and do it to another, when you get over it in a month and realise it looks like sh1t, put the OEM one back on.... Thank me later
