Tail light & rear interior light mystery...

Hey guys, all round BMW & forum newbie here,

So, I get an error on my dash that my drivers side tail light is out, which is true. The whole thing doesn't work. no brake, no signal, no parking, (it's aftermarket smoked ebay special, however this problem existed with the factory lights also which is why I bought the aftermarket ones because they were more or less self contained), BUT the rear interior light stays on (when my lights are turned on). Has anyone come across this problem before?? And if so, what did you do to fix it?

have you checked the passenger side ground? Those were known to fail on facelifts so i'm not sure if it applies to you.

Kinda stupid question, have you pushed the button/turned it off? (if you are talking about interior lights in the rear seat(s) )

Eneka, ground was going to be the first place I start today, we'll see what happens. I was also told that some factory harness clips go bad.

Daki, lol funny but still a valid response. Yes I have, also its only on when I turn on my headlights...

Either way if anyone else has any other input please feel free to write it!
