I haven't ridden anything more powerful than a Yamaha WR450 and i was surprised at the power of that. I couldn't imagine the power of a 1000 supersport. I will definitely do riding courses once i reach that stage though.

Anyone got a good idea of a trail bike I should look at? Within ten years old, 2-stroke, full-size but for a beginner and less than 2k used.

any 250 2 strokes are the most fun you can have but boy they are so easy to get wrong and when you do ....

Damn 2k... you definitely wont be able to get a decent 2 stroke for that money.. the closest you will get is a Yam YZ125 (or 85) but they are a little too small in terms of size of the bike. They still go pretty good power wise though. Personally i can't stand 2 stokes cause of power band, but that's just me..

If i were you i'd look for a Kawasaki KX250 (2 stroke).. up around 4k but they definitely get up and go... But to tell you the truth they would be too much to handle for a beginner. You're better off starting with a 250 4-stroke imo like a YZ250F or something..

Nah, my partner is intent on me getting a 2-stroke. Everyone else tells him he's wrong but **** it, I don't want to argue about it anymore hahaha. We've got ourselves set on a YZ125 at this stage, unless a good price comes up on something else.

and there's no way I'm getting a 250 2-stroke!

We have a couple of YZ125's up at the farm. They are good fun and you wont regret it. Just watch out for power band especially around corners.

Yeah a 250 2 stroke is way overboard for beginners... Its almost the equivalent to a 450 4 stroke which is crazy power.. especially on dirt
