Ghirardelli chocolate!

Damn I love these. There is a lot of flavors but I think I just found the best. Sea salt/roasted almonds

Sea salt and chocolate is by far the best candy/dessert ever. I'm not even a big sweets person, but those caramel chocolates with sea salt sprinkled on top I will eat like 50 of.

Sea salt on chocolate or caramel is disgusting. In Portland my wife and I once went into a store that sold nothing but different kinds of salt. The sales lady was explaining all the different kinds of salt they had, and was saying stuff like, "Ooh, this is black salt from Cypress, it goes really well on ice cream" and "and this is red salt from Hawaii, this goes great on chocolate". I looked at her like she had two heads. Straight out of Portlandia.

I'm surprised you would have that kind of reaction, you are a bit of a foodie. While i'm sure the person at the store might have been a tad bit too passionate about salt, it has its place in non-conventional food groups... chocolate definitely being one of them.

If you doubt me, well then lets start with the basics. How do you feel about chocolate covered pretzels?

Chocolate covered pretzels are generally ok. Not my favorite, but the key is a balance of ingredients. What I think is gross is when they sprinkle chunky salt on top of chocolate - so that the first thing you taste is a sh1t ton of salt.

And sprinkling salt on ice cream is just gross.

Sea Salt and Caramel is great.

I have half a dozen different types of salt in my pantry. I try a new one every few months as theirs a salt seller at my local weekend farmers market.
My standard salts I like are Kosher, Hawaiian and Sel Gris.
