I wouldn't take that as a slight against the GoPro. I'd say it's a compliment. There may be technically superior minicams out there, but none of them are as easy to use as the GoPro, nor do they offer the full accessory support like GoPro does. Price is also hard to beat.

That wasn't meant to be a slam I'm referring to how GoPro was able to refresh their product so quickly. I don't think the GoPro2 is even a year and a bit old.

They have also become close to a household name much like scotch tape.

So is there any reason I shouldn't return the Hero2 I just bought in favor of the Hero3?

Also the 'black edition' is not out until Dec. 1st... Great marketing on their part. And the site crashed last night due to so many people ordering - so obviously they are doing something right.

Wait until dec 1st.., from what I can tell the white and silver are identical to the hero2, minus the built in wifi - they have the same sensors. So If you want the best, hold off for the back edition.

If you can make out even, I don't see any reason not to. Like Taylor said, the black edition doesn't come out for awhile, but if you don't want to spend any extra money then it's worth your time to at least exchange for the same sensor in a smaller package. And if you ever upgrade then you won't have to worry about your housing and accessories not working. Not to mention they have the dive lens and wifi built in.

All the Hero 3's have wi-fi built in, means you can use the GoPro app to use your phone as a viewfinder.

White = Hero1
Silver = Hero2
Black = ACTUAL Hero3

Unless you want wifi backpack and smaller size, Hero2 can be found cheap now
