Custom Mid-Pipes by Fluid MotorUnion. Evosport + FMU + Cutout + Agency Power V1

Over the years I have been through quite a few different exhaust setups and none of them really brought out that super aggressive tone I was looking for. I had OEM Section 1 with AR25 Resonators, Super Sprint Section 1 with racing cats, Super Sprint Section 2 with custom 2.5" dump valve, Active Autowerke Generation 3 exhaust, Active Autowerke Generation 4 exhaust, Gruppe M Exhaust, Rogue Engineering El Diablo Track Edition Exhaust; and I think that's it.

Finally, I completed an exhaust setup that I think sounds THE BEST! I've heard a bunch of exhaust setups on various supercharged M3's and none of them had that sound that "means business." They all sounded puny with a ton of rasp. I wanted to get rid of the rasp, mainly, and have a sound that is distinct to my car. -I think the 3.5" mid-pipe was the trick.

My FINAL exhaust setup is as follows:
-Evosport Headers
-Fluid MotorUnion Custom 3.5" SINGLE Pipe Section 1 & Section 2
--No Cats
--No Resonators
--QTP 3.5" Exhaust Cutout Dump Valve (Controller built-in to ash tray)
-Agency Power V1 Exhaust

EDIT about DYNOS:
I did not complete any dynos before and after, unfortunately, just after. I didn't have time to do so since we were in a time crunch to complete the parts before an upcoming car show. My car really woke up after, though. It felt like the car just 'flowed' better or came alive. You don't gain anything from the valve (per-say), it's just there for the "Cool" factor. With it open, you lose a lot of low end power, but gain top end power (you can feel it). Again, it's just there for the cool factor. The sound is super aggressive and sounds better than ANY other exhaust system imho. Most M3's sound like sh!t because they rattle like a tin can, and even the ones with the rasp terminators still don't sound mean enough. I think it's the 2.5"-2.75" they all run and the fact that the mid-pipes are broken down into 2 different sections; one using 1 pipe and the other using 2 pipes. 1 3.5" pipe flows more air than 1 2.5" pipe dumping into 2 2.5" pipes or vice versa. If that makes sense.

I have a friend with a similar exhaust setup as mine, but he is NA and running a single 3" from headers to exhaust. He has a couple threads of dynos before and after via Evolve tune. I would assume that with a blower or turbo, the gains would be even more drastic.

Yea, I think it really has to do with the SINGLE 3.5" piping. Probably a mixture of the diameter of the piping and the fact that it's only one pipe rather than 2 pipes (S-Pipe) running into 1 pipe (X-Pipe) like the OEM or any other mainstream aftermarket product.

So is it louder with a single 3.5" pipe. I know it founds super sexy. Butvusbit louder also?
And what does it do to the power and torque vs the dual pipe setup?

Yes, it is "louder", but there's no rasp or drone (just a little) inside the cabin. To see the power gains of a 3.5" pipe, you'd need to be supercharged or turboed because you'll lose all the back pressure necessary for a NA motor/setup; especially with no cats or resonators.

I believe 3" is the maximum recommended diameter for a NA exhaust setup. One pipe from headers to exhaust is better than 2 pipes dumping into 1 pipe in terms of exhaust flow and power.

I wish I did some dyno runs before and after this setup to show the difference.

I REALLY wanted the V1 when I was searching for it a few months ago. I had the same "tubular" style exhaust when I had the Rogue Engineering El Diablo Track Edition Exhaust; it had a lot of drone.

Not to mention HPF did an exhaust dyno test to see which flows the best and the Agency Power V1 was #1 followed by the RE El Diablo I had before.

I just feel that the Super Sprint Race Design of the Agency Power V1 has a unique sound, considering all the rest of the exhausts have the same "tubular" design as described above.

used to have the AP v1 exhaust. best exhaust ive ever owned.

i like it with the cut out closed. always thought bmws should have a deeper tone. With it open, it sounds way too obnoxious to deal with everyday. How about in cabin sound?

To be honest, the cutout option is just for the "cool" factor of controlling the already amazing exhaust tone. In person it's comparable to a crotchrocket with a slip-on exhaust. I NEVER drive around town with it open, because it's just super loud inside and outside the cabin. I mainly open it up at car meets, shows, and to people that pull up next to me that 'believe' they have a chance

I'll have to make some videos and update this thread with videos of it open and closed so you can see what it kind of sounds like. The Agency Power V1 exhaust has little drone as compared to the RE El Diablo I had before.
