I did it with Win7, so I'm not sure why you think you need XP to do this.

All that I've needed XP for was NCS Expert.

Everything i try wont work so im getting xp and sending a member my stock tune with galletto software

Seems like a lot of hassle and time for you to try to get it done. I say set up xp and use the directions that dude posted. It'll work.

you can also download an integrated xp install disc, like "tinyxp". I just bought an old tablet off of craigslist for $50 and thats what I use for my car stuff.

also you can use windows 7 but you have to make sure you get a good working inpa install, windows 7 + inpa not very forgiving...

Installing it on Windows 7 is no harder than on XP. Just have to make sure you're running 32-bit.

If you can't do that, then just run XP in a VM. It'll work perfectly as long as your USB ports aren't USB 3.0

Hi. I bought Galletto, downloaded 64 kB and trie to upload it back into the ecu. Something went wrong and nothing works. Galletto software gives error -5. Anyone willing / able to help please? The car is Euro e46 325 cabrio, MY2001.

I was really stupid since I don't have the original file if it was corrupted during the first load. The target is to get car running again, collect some new courage and try to tune for e85 ethanol gas fuel.

Oh god wish i could help, look up try and pm terraphantom. He posted in this thread i believe and seems to know his stuff

something similar happened to me, u need to use INPA, when u get in the dme if u get VIN mismatched code u might be able to just do an ews resync more than likely tho u will need to use winkfp to flash the ecu with stock bmw software.

I gave up. I will be taking my car to a forum members house

Thanks for you help phubar. I've tested the hardware now. I believe VIN should be updated first?

If a upload stock BMW software, does the VIN in the bin need to be matched? Or is EWS sync, with INPA I believe, sufficient?

Where are you located? I'm on my phone phone and the app is being slow

^ Espoo, Finland, Europe. Used to be N.C. for a while :-)

you can follow these steps

1 Start WinKFP and select F3:- Update ZUSB
2 Select ECU type and the ECU will appear along with a list of part numbers.
3 Select ok and the main menu will re-appear
4 Select VIN and enter the cars VIN no. and select OK.
5 Select Done
6 Select Prog. ZB_update, you will be asked to confirm the update, Winkfp wil state the number of times the module can be re-programmed.
7 Sit back and wait.

That should bring ur dme back to life, then you can look into flashing the EU2 software.

can that galleto software read and write to E46 M3 ecus?
