Do you know a part number to the antenna? Or where I can get one? I wanna know my costs and see if it'll be worth it to change my radio or go for a GROM or blitzsafe.

Bavarian sound werks sells one, as do Crutchfield and others.
Have a search in DIY and Sound / Audio, there are DIYs and more info on what you need to do.

Sorry but I'm still not sure what I'm looking for. After reading around I noticed there were different adapter for hooking up antenna's to aftermarket radios and newer head units. Do you have a link to any of these adapters? I just need to copy and paste a name so i can search for the best price.

I made the aux input wire myself and it works perfect and even shows and Aux mode when my phone is disconnected. Also I just remembered I also couldn't find an answer to how do I get the aux cord down by the cigarette lighter? I read alot about it but when it all comes down to it, I cant figure it out! I popped out the air control and the slot under the air control, fed the aux toward the cigarette lighter slot but I cant find my cord?!?!! Sorry for bringing up these questions again but I can honestly say I spent a good 2 hours reading this thread and researching and still cannot find an answer! |

what i didn't see an answer to and maybe i overlooked it... The connectors that go into the back of the HU... where did you get those? or is that connector already back there?
Did the connectors come off of your computer cable as well?

The cables are internal USB cables(the cables that connect front USB ports to the motherboard) or the IDE cables(the cables that connect IDE hard rives/CD-DVD drives to the motherboard) from desktop(usually).

For anyone who has trouble finding info about the resistor / condensors mentioned in this thread and to alleviate the problem of charging whilst playing audio from your device, have a read of this thread by GTRaptor. He has also included instructions in a PDF:

Having a mode button doesn't mean your stereo is aux compatible. It needs to be manufactured on 2003 or later. Some say 09/2002 is the first that got the aux feature.

I first tryed the simple AUX directly into radio, but that didn't work for me at all (european version) now i've soldered 2 capacitors and 1 resistor, it works like a charm!! and no interuption when charging whatsoever

Read through the thread and got the gist of it all. Checked my car and production date was 12/01 and SW was 40.
Only thing that confuses me is that i have a cable coming out of my glove box and i can play music and charge at the same time. Is this feature already included in most bimmers? Does this mean i can do the aux cable? I dont see why not when my car can do it through that plug. |

Guys,
According to the instruction, we have to use C0.22F and 300Kohm, but I only have 0.1uF and 10Kohm in hand, is it ok? |
