2000 323i: Front Bumper --> Fastener

I recently got a new front bumper & was trying to replace it myself. I got all the screw & rivet fitted correctly except 2 fastener. It just fell off when I was removing old one and couldn't notice where it goes. The 2 nuts for the fastener were not there but got new one from BMW dealer. But don't know where to put it back.

Part 35 & 36

35 & 36 go on the inside rear of the bumper. The center "grill" attaches at various points behind the bumper and these pieces go directly above the fog light housing, and attach to the metal reinforcement bar.

Note: I have the facelift bumper with little round fog lights.

Thanks FastHackem

So if I am understand it correctly, it should go into one of the hole above fog light (second hole from either side on bumper) instead of the expanding rivet.

I just remember there being a slot on the metal bar that it fits into on either side. I know it didn't fit onto the fog light housing itself but rather around that area. Its used for the lower "grill" section. One on the right and one on the left. I really want to say that there is literally a slot in the metal piece.

Thanks a lot. You are really helpful.

I will try it out tomorrow. I have already put the rubber guard. So I assume I should be able to take it out again & find a spot to put it in.

THanks again

You're very welcome. Hopefully you can find it, but if you don't, it doesn't seem like its a super integral part of the bumper.
