Dont worry. I think im the only one on here that still likes chrome, leather that doesnt look like mcdonalds made it, functional equipment( not stick on parts you wont notice) just cant figure out why hide nice rims painted by painting black?
Picked up my first BMW a few months ago. Searched around for awhile trying to decide on a nice dd, and after my friend got an 04 silver e46, i decided i wanted one to lol. I was very picky in what i wanted though. had to be 4 door, 5 speed, xenon headlamps, and the black sport interior package. Also i much prefer the pre-facelift look, so it worked out that atleast in a few ways my car wasnt identical to his lol. Took many months but i finally found it. I can say i didn't love the color at first but it has happily grown on me
I plan on having this bein a clean daily that probably will see minimal modification. Just want to get anything replaced that needs fixed first, and then i think some vmr's or csl's through umnitza. From what i've read and seen the 18's on stock sport suspension look pretty nice and SUPPOSEDLY does not affect the ride that much. I find that kind of hard to believe but if anyone wants to comment on that please do.
So far 50 percent tint, smoke/ clear turn signal covers, reflectors, led running lights, led AE (didn't quite fit on pre-facelift), carbon fiber 3 inch antenna, carbon fiber black and silver emblems/ badges for wheels, hood and trunk, steering wheel, tinted film on 3rd brake light, and LED tailights.
Thanks I had those before the Angel Eyes and now its too much. I love your Orion AE, they look like they fit better. The metal shroud is blocking mine (highbeams) so was deciding what to do on that, might cut the wire to the high beams or figure it out, or get the Orion and cut the strips off.
Any advice though on wheel finishes? They've gotten scratched up so like to refinish them but keep the OEM so was thinking gunmetal would be a cool look, not black, but that or really dark grey semi-gloss?
Yeah my angel eyes are prefect orion v2's are great I love them.
And wheel finish semi gloss gunmetal would look good not flat gunmetal I hate that color. Maybe a hyper silver always looks good on steel blue or a hyper black if they can get it done, no to black.
I bought my E46 in December of last year and I've been working on it over the past few months to fix what the previous owner neglected to.
Anyway, I came across the roof rack moldings and they looked faded to me. I was wondering if they're supposed to match the steel blue or if they're supposed to be black.
Can anyone help me out?
No they're suppose to be body colored. I too noticed a slight variation in the color on my steel blue 323Ci roof rails to the roof. I think this has to do with both it being a painted plastic. As well as it fading possibly more by it being a different material that expands and contracts in summer and winter different than metal. Pretty sure it's also not painted the same time as body is.
In Europe, all E46 with R6 engine have those moldings in bodycolor.
However, all of the following parts came in bodycolor TOGETHER from the factory:
-doorhandles
-handle on the trunk with license platei illumination
-grill on the hood (the on surronding nozzles for windscreen washing)
-roof moldings
Also, all European R6 E46 came with chrome trim (unles it was M Sportpackage with gloss shadowline).
:hi:Hi! I think I'm a lil late, but better than never right!?
Also, this is my 1st BMW...and could anyone help me identify my car please. I read a lot about ZHP or M models but I have no clue what mines is...lol:facepalm:

I got a pretty decent amount of info from a BMW VIN Decoder, there are free ones online. Shows the engine, for the most part the package, etc. Although I found some cool things that weren't listed, but not standard neither like an ipod connector that was pushed down below the stereo (found it replacing the stereo).
Try googling BMW vin decoder on google search and the second one is free and good.
