Jacks tried a higher-end "Fast Casual" concept called JBX Grill. One of the test locations was here in San Diego in Hillcrest where they converted a regular Jacks. It wasn't bad for what it was and the food tasted/looked better than the typical Jacks. Counter order but food was delivered to your table. I think Jacks does a good enough business that they didn't think the JBX Grill concept was worth pursuing.
The Hillcrest location reverted back to a regular Jacks but still has the styling from when it was a JBX.

I like Freebirds better, but i eat at Chipotle often cause it's right across the street. Both of those pale in comparison to food I can get in my hometown of El Paso though....

Fuzzy's is the closest food to my apartment here in KC, and it ROCKS.

Lunch always has a line out the door though, so I have to get it off-peak hours.

Everyone at work gets Chipotle a couple times a week though.

+100

I loved FreeBirds SB. Now they have one in Ventura and Agoura. It's just not the same... or maybe I'm wasn't drunk enough. Who knows.

Edit: Also, Chipotle is the fvckin WORST!! White people mexican food. The salsas they use are absolutely terrible.

Meh it's okay. It's like the suckers who bend over backwards for Starbucks coffee. It more of a fad than anything.
