Oh and AT&T has LTE in New Orleans, and I don't see that on the map. Is that entirely up to date? Last edited by Grande D; 10-31-2012 at 09:18 AM. |

So is it worth waiting for the next iteration of the Nexus phone by another manufacturer? Or will there be enough time in between releases?

Anyone know if Google will only start taking orders on the 13th or if that's when they start delivering?

Hardware components and look/feel maybe, nothing specific. But, just the pitfall like... be an early adopter then 4 months down the road, Samsung comes out with their handset. Not entirely sure if I'm sold on LG handsets yet but it appears with this recent venture... they really raised the bar and trying to compete with the HTC/Samsungs of the world.

I would think that's when they will start taking orders. I'm wondering if that means the order will start at 12.01 PT time : /

Besides that it's pretty bleak right now. Samsung is probably focusing more on the S4 at the moment if I were to guess, since the Galaxy line sells so well.So if you're on T-Mo and don't really care about LTE (or AT&T for that matter), then I think the Nexus 4 will be a pretty safe buy. The main thing that would likely be improved in a future model would be inclusion of LTE. Besides that, the N4 is pretty beast. |

I think the multiple Nexus devices from multiple manufacturers is basically how you see it already.
-Nexus 7 - Asus -Nexus 10 - Samsung -Nexus 4 - LG -Nexus Q - themselves I really don't think we'll see any other Nexus phones for the time being though, but I could be completely wrong. That's just my take on the multiple Nexus rumors. |

I wonder when the Nexus Q will be re-introduced. I'd definitely be interested in one if it... you know, did more and cost less.

I thought all phones have it but maybe itsT Mobile. Going back to my Blackberry 6 years ago I've been able to use my wifi for calls.

A lot of people may have already seen this, but I just came across it yesterday. It's a very interesting read, a lot of the quotes going around from Google about the new Nexus stuff came from here. Thought I'd share:

Same here, if they make it a full on Google TV Box, Orb, whatever you want to call the thing then I would pick one up right away. It really only makes sense for them to do that. They have a Nexus product for everything else, why not a Nexus branded Google TV box?

My favorite non-iPhones are the new One-X+, the Lumia 920 and this new Nexus 4. I think I'd be happy with any of them.

The Lumia 920 almost got me to try out Windows 8. I hate to be that person but there just isn't enough support behind Windows 8 for me to try it out yet. I would love for Nokia to make an Android phone. The One X is a super solid phone was tempted by that but decided to wait it out and see what popped up with the Nexus 4. Which I'm pretty happy I did.

Verge review for the Nexus 4 came out: http://www.theverge.com/2012/11/2/35...nexus-4-review
Kind of low. 8.3 even though the average comes out to 8.5. They docked it 4 points for the data/call quality category due to lack of LTE. If that's not important to you and you remove the subjective categories of "design" and "ecosystem" as well, the objective categories make this phone a much better choice than the iPhone 5: *******> ********>*******>********>

The Verge has stated many times that their scores are not averages. I don't know how you can come to the conclusion that this is a "much better" phone than the iPhone 5. The iPhone is stronger, has undeniably better apps and support, and has LTE. Until the 5, Android fans were saying the iPhone is trash without LTE. Now that the Nexus doesn't have it, it's suddenly OK because LTE doesn't work in Europe. Give me a break.
