Can you say anything nice about ZipRealty?

My buddy and his father work with them back in 2005 and made some good money. But if you look online all you see is really horrible stuff written about them. I asked my friend about all this negativiety and he thinks its just all the other brokers and realtors that are pissed off about the Zip Discount. Basically, Zip is stealing business.

I'm going to grad school and want to work in RE on the side. I don't really need the money, I just want to get some experience in the industry.

If you're unfamiliar, Zip has a lead generator and will give you as many leads as you want as long as you contact all of them. The commission is lower for agents because you aren't paying for marketing. They'll hire me in San Diego and fly me up to Sac town for a week of training.

I can't really talk bad about 1 company or another. it is not professional.
I have heard of zip and done business with them in the past. 2005 was a different animal then 2012. The real estate business is very competetive and all you have is your name. I would say gie it a try, it sounds liek you ahve nothign to lose and it will be a great way ffor you to get your foot in the door. Take what most people say with a grain of salt, since the businesss is full of lies. Make you own opiniions and see what path/company is best for you.

cool thanks. And I told you I'm taking my RE exam next week...

I have received over 50 pieces of mail from brokers

Do you agents have to pay/rent a desk in your office? Is that still happening?

i still get job offers from brokers that want me to work in their office. I tell them I am a broker, then they say they can offer me a great split. I tell them I can offer them a "tip".
Some times you will be charged a desk fee, I don't charge a desk fee. I charge a referral fee for anyone who uses my company to run purchases through. I give my loan officers a 75/25 split which is pretty generous from what I have been told.

With higher producers I take a much lower split.

I get shivers up my spine when I consider the thought of getting a minivan.

I'm glad my wife feels the same way.

you have an M6 but the OEM wipers ($15~ refills) designed to not lift and clear water over 150mph weren't good enough? Did you walk into AutoZone with a boner or something
