At least I think I typed that right. New Bimmer owner here. Bought a 99 323I this weekend to replace my 4runner as it had 290K and I now need to drive to work. Realize I will be working on this one a bit but that's okay.

Car has 93K miles and the remote key was missing when I bought it. The car lot couldn't find the key so ordered a new remote key. When I got it home and opened the manual viola the key drops out. So now have the key with remote locks and a spare. Took it to BMW Portland who couldn't unlock the fob but after watching him try for ten minutes and telling me my car was effed I drove back to work and tried the turn three times hold unlock and hit lock three times. Not sure exactly which way I did it, but after trying a few combo's got it to program...

Lights are going to be an issue. I have xenons which are flickering and going off. do you all recommend replacing with aftermarket or redoing the igniter and ballasts?

Swap bulbs first, if the problem stays on the same side swap ballasts and keep going.
