works like a charm for me, maybe u didnt plug it in the right port or it came loose?

Did you plug the WiFi dongle into the correct USB port?

Yep its in the right usb slot. The previous owner says it use to work....

Maybe try another dongle ? Or try a different USB port? Other than that try and get a firmware update. Or factory reset it

Excuse my ignorance, but do the wifi dongles need a data sim card installed to work?

There were 2 types, one for 3G connection, which uses mobile networks, then there is hte WIFI dongle which lets you tether to your phone or hotspot for internet

I've done a factory reset and a firmware upgrade. Last thing to do is to test the dongle on a pc.
