I have not worn a tux in more than 20 years. I don't work for a big corporation or firm that has black tie events, so I haven't had a need.

I did! It was one of the first times I wore it...because the weather was cooling off. Hm...perhaps that should have been a sign to you.

yea. the main reason i did it, was b/c i got to keep the tux for same price as renting ($70), and that gave me the option to get it tailored, which was nice (compared to rental tux).

Perhaps I need to crash a Gala or Ball.

sucks
at least the $3000 will soften the blow
were the clothes in storage mostly stuff you stopped wearing? if so, i guess it's about the same thing as if you had dumped them on ebay for cheap

calvin klein, men's wearhouse. b/c I had 10+ people rent from them they gave me that deal.

nothing crazy, but was much better than the rental options from MW.

it had a $700 price tag lol.

one is a j. crew coat (moon wool fairport trench) that i love, that i will never sell. i am going to dry clean it (family business) and hope it turns out okay. one was a j. crew cashmere topcoat i didn't like. i may be able to dry clean it and sell it on the cheap on ebay anyways as long as it doesn't mildew. my brooks suit i think i can salvage too.

all the ties are toasted, as are all my dress shirts. mr. porter founders sale should start in two weeks so i'll have the money in time for some drake's replacements.

It's only supposed to get into the low 50s for the next several days.

So it's time to break out the tweeds again. Excellent.
