What engine do you have in your car? M54B30? stock? S54?

@metal massager, have you ever thought about going with amber corners up front? I actually think it looks GREAT on black e46 m3's, would then match your rears...

Your car, and metal's are truly my inspiration. You are one of the main reasons that got me into the touring!

Exterior mods basically complete except repiping for quads in the rear w oem jet black diffuser. Either clear tails or amber corners...leaning towards clear tails, but in some of those pics, the amber looks really good. Already have oem xenons, dead pedal...would love steering wheel as well.

Every choice I made (except the 19's) was based upon the premise of building a bone stock ///M3t....you know, like all the ones running around all over Europe. Haha, I've heard that several times already!!! I had really detailed pics of every step, but camera stolen, so I have few phone pics I will post.

The whole reason I built this car was to be in the 2013 e46 calendar...it has been my lifelong dream to represent touring owners around the world.

(I'm just kidding...I built it for me, myself, and I.....but sharing it with you guys is a pretty cool perk)

As you can see, the Style 39 does come in a staggered set. I had a set of Style 68s, which were designed for the E46, and they are more modern looking. Plus, any used set of E36 wheels is very old. Having purchased used wheels, I am more inclined to buy new aftermarket wheels or wheels on sale at dealers than used 10 year old wheels. You just cannot inspect them and see everything.

Staggered wheels add weight to the rear and probably make the 325i slower, but they do look good. They also add understeer to the car and make it handle a little less nimbly. I switched to a set of 17x8" BBS RKs for summer tires and a set of Style 73 17x7" for winter tires. I am very pleased with these choices, but some will accept nothing less than 18" or 19" wheels, most of which are quite heavy compared to stock E46 wheels.

Tootall, thanks for the info as always. I am aware the DSII's came staggered but I'm not completely sure if the set I found is or is not, so I was trying to rule out whether they would fit. In other words, I know a lot of people with M3 wheels run 4 fronts to get rid of the staggered set, and I can't get this guy to answer any questions about them, so I'm moving on.
I like the Treff catalog, but found one I like even better.

ode2joy, that BMW Style link is good and I have not seen it before. It is similar to felgenkatalog and looks like the same info presented differently. I find it a little frustrating that some wheels have the weight and others don't on both sites. Weight is very important, IMHO.

Fitted 18" CSL reps today. Best wheel ever! Took me a few years to find some local...

Touring's in this forum. I would do the M3 conversion to my touring to, if i could afford it ( the tax in Denmark is stinking HIGH).

The front brakes are stock m3, rears are stock 325...the rears do look super dinky haha

By steps, I'm assuming you mean setup? They are vmr vb3 19x10 et25 rear and 19x9.5 et 22 in the front

I've got a question for touring owners only, so I hope no one minds me asking it here. I've got 2000 323iT 5 speed and get A LOT worse fuel mileage than I did with my 330 vert or my wife's 530. Both of them get 25 city and around 30 highway. I get about 20-21 in town and only jump to about 24 on the highway. I know the 5 speed wagons are geared differently, so I'm wondering if that makes the difference. Can anyone elaborate on their experiences?

I get about the same; the 3.46 gears keep the rpm higher all the time plus it is heavy and the smaller engine has to be worked harder to get up and go.

Thanks. Any idea if a newer e46 rear end and/or 6 speed can be easily swapped, or is it not a simple swap? My car has 205k on it and my 5 speed is pretty worn. I'm waiting on a UUC DSSR right now to see if the feel will be improved, but my car wasn't kept that well by the PO's.
