Dynavin Engine Noise with RCA out....??

Hello all. I'm in the middle of having an amplifier and new speakers installed in my car right now, and my installer is getting engine noise through the RCA outs on the Dynavin.

He's tried an outside power source, new ground, multiple amplifiers, RCA's outside the car so there cant be interference, etc and seems to have eliminated any source of the problem except for the Dynavin.

It's not terrible, but it's also not right. Has anyone else run into this issue? We're sort of standing here shrugging our shoulders and it would be great to get my car put back together.

Am I reading this right, you basically said it's the Dynavin, right? What is changing before vs after? Are you going from speaker level to RCAs or have you been using RCAs from the Dynavin all along?

It soundalike you've got a grounding problem. Make sure that your installer is not using the battery ground lug as a audio system ground. The head unit should use the same ground as the original head unit. The amps, etc. should use the original oem amp ground above and slightly forward of the oem amp's location.

I had been using the speaker level outputs to the H/K amp. Didn't have any noise. Switched to the RCA outs to a Kenwood 5-channel amplifier and now I have a hiss at zero/low volume and a slight engine whine at low volume.

I misspoke. He is using a new ground, and the head unit is grounded to the same place as the amplifier.

Have you used different RCAs while everything else is the same? (RCAs with Dynavin, Kenwood amp, same everything else) Are you using your stock wiring for RCAs?

I was using the stock wiring when it was hooked up to the stock amp. Now I'm using RCAs. The installer tried several sets of RCA cables - same result every time.

if you turn the gain down some do you still get sufficient volume?

I had my installer button everything up since I needed the car back so I haven't tried that myself. I'm thinking there should be a little room to do that. This system is incredibly loud to my ear. Beyond 40 is ear splitting.

(It sounds amazing BTW)

The noise needs to go though, it is quite noticeable at zero or low volume.
