DOC Race Unveils The Madness behind Their Tubular M3 Manifold

Spent some time w/ the guys at DOC Race to talk about their Tubular BMW M3 Turbo Manifold. This manifold will soon be an option for the HPF Turbo Kits as well.

ALSO NOTE: The final manifold WILL BE ceramic coated just like our other turbo manifolds.

Exhaust gas temps and the change in spool of turbo is more important imo. I hope it does improve both alot

Well he said apool of turbo....which directly changes hp. That was my pqint he said x was more important then y while in the end they are the same. Anyways. I put down all my power sir......with my mt's

They are not the same. Some exhaust manifolds that are produced to make more horsepower usually delays the spool because they are too long.

This exhaust manifold may get a better spool and also make more hp but they are not linear.

Not a good idea, sch.10's likely'ness to crack increases 10 fold when you coat it

No need for ceramic coating when you can't even see it...wrap it in header wrap instead imo.

Have you ever wrapped anything like that? lol... Lets talk about a 8-10 hr install if you wrap it. Not saying bad idea, but very time consuming.

I've wrapped steam lines with it as well as turbine housings on large diesel turbochargers...it's not that time consuming...hour tops once you've gotten good at it...first time you do something always takes longer. Thx love my sig pic too

Also shows leaks very easily as the material gets black

Some teaser photos of DOC Race's Tubular M3 manifold. The end result of the manifolds will be ceramic coated much like the HPF Cast Iron M3 Manifold.

They were sent out for Ceramic Coating just a few days ago. Hoping for shortly after Thanksgiving. Any customer interested in this upgrade should give me a call or email. I have quite the list building already pending results.

If you guys haven't seen their 240sx build its pretty amazing... Titanium downpipe, dumptube and a bunch of crazy fab work.

Heatwrap is nice to use as-well commanderwiggins!

We have used ceramic coating on the manifolds for quite a few years and really like the results we've gotten this way as far as exhaust temperature is concerned. The coating decreases that transfer quite a bit, the wrap tends to "trap" the heat in the metal from our experience.
