coupe front window fault

hey, just joined this sight after solving various issues with help from here!
unfortunately ive drawn a blank on my most annoying fault! My front drivers side window no longer auto drops or re seals (drops and raises 5mm on opening and closing the door) what i have found is that it could be the switch located within the lock mechanism that also operates the interior light when you open the door as this also fails to happen. passenger side works fine drops and raises as it should and interior light comes on. Does anyone know if i can check, clean, repair or replace just the switch or if it is what i suspect and i have to replace the whole mechanism??? any help would be greatly appreciated! cheers guys
