Anyone know what brand exhaust this is ?

So, seen this on eBay the other day. Offered the guy $100 for it and well he agreed so basically for a steal no matter what it is.

Now, it had no branding from anywhere I can see. I took a few photos to see if anyone of you blokes can recognise it ?

IMO it looks like an m3 rep muffler for regular 3er's.

^ if that's the case the OEM M3 muffler would be better.

Yup, its a M3 exhaust 100%. I Spoke to the bloke, he had a gruppe M and he said it was way to loud as this one came with his car when he bought it.

He said, it sounds quite nice (keeps teh rasp but amplifies it) hes like over 3k it starts to scream.

If it is a knock off, it must be a good one. BUt as i said, for $100 you deff cant go wrong, However just wanted to see if anyone recignosed it so i can get a good idea of how it sounds

Looks similar to the old Mille Miglia exhausts, like John's old one:

But as you said, for $100 it should be sweet! Interested to see performance +/-

Dyno before and after

Ahhahah i was watching that, best I could find was a $300 one off eBay from Asia which looked identical. I checked it out when he was selling it so make sure there's no exhaust leaks or anything from the rust. Anyway I reckon it's a $300 one from china off eBay, reason I didn't buy it was because apparently they sound the same. Let us know how you go

Looks totally different to any of the chinese know offs ive seen ? The chinese ones all look like the megan etc with the 2 piping system that looks similar to the grupp M.

And what exhaust does it sound similar to ?

Ill try to find the link to the one I saw but it was pretty much identical all the way down to the bend of the inlet pipes. And the sound clip sounded like stock just slightly less raspy but wouldn't say much louder. See how you go though man. If it doesn't sound different then stock try adding a straight pipe see if it makes a difference.

why do you want to put a $100 muffler on your M3 anyway?

Hmmm, From what I can tell. It looks very similar to a Miglia, remus etc etc its got that same style. So I would sort of assume it sounds at least something like that.

See how we go tomorrow, Ill post a few videos etc etc

Mate for $100 and about 40mins to install it - good buy. Chuck it on and go for a drive.

Personally though I wouldn't bother with dyno'ing the car. If anything your gonna get a +/- 3kw difference, mufflers really don't do anything to M3's other then making them lighter.

Enjoy.

That's exactly right, no loss in it tbh. And no point in dynoying the car what so ever, doesn't matter if its a $100 or $3000 exhaust.
