Just curious to see if I did it relatively early- who's done the switch already?
I saw that forecast high temperatures are getting close to 45" thus I swapped over to OEM 18" wheels + Blizzak LM-60 tires today.

I put my snow tires on last weekend. Some people laughed at me.
Then it snowed. Last edited by pokehmong; 11-12-2012 at 10:28 PM. |

Usually wait until Thanksgiving. Last year, Thanksgiving was way too early.

I did. It already snowed in Boston last week. Why wait? not worth the risk.

Same here lol... leave them on, as it is they only spend a few months on snow tires anyways. I'm still on my same pair of blizzacks from 2006. The rears could definitely use a new set, but the fronts are still in really good condition. I might be able to squeeze one more season out of the rears, we'll see on a considerable amount of snowfall.

Yesterday and it's good thing I did. The rears on the summer set were toast!

![]() Still on summers, well, kinda.. my rear summers were beat early into this season, so I was able to source some used Pirelly PZero's on ebay that I have on the rears now and they are all seasons. My OE Conti-touring contact's I've been using as my "winters" are pretty bald now too, except for my spare. So I've been able to source two used ones on ebay and will get those mounted and balanced when they come in, then seriously consider doing the switch. Down here in the southcoast, this time of year, we get rain while everyone else gets snow because the water temp stays so high for so long..

![]() What fool drives around on bald 19's in the snow? How "stuck" did you get? Took my buddy 4 hours to get home to Southbridge from Framingham in the snow because he had some nearly bald azz summers on the rears of his 528i. Fool.
