It's good to see Mike D and the lakers organization are addressing any concerns about defense ahead of time. How would you guys like seeing nate as an assistant for la. Or would fans of his rather see him giving it another go as a head coach.

A league source indicated late Sunday night that Jackson was "stunned" when the Lakers called to inform him they had chosen D'Antoni. He had been prepared to accept the job Monday if negotiations between his agent and the Lakers went well. Jackson's agent Todd Musberger had been scheduled to fly to Los Angeles on Monday

There are so many stories who knows what is the real truth. Anyway I am fine with MDA but please get Nate as a defensive coach.

Whatever i dont know it just sucks that Phil isnt coming back yet.

This sucks so much why would you take a coach who was fired from the suns, then forced to resign with the Knicks, and really hasn't done anything in the nba.... At leas mike brown has been to the nba finals. The triangle would not have been that hard to pick up epically for Nash. He played against it for most of his carrier, I'm sure he know it inside and out from watching film Nd trying to defend it. I just don't get it if Phil got hired and did a terrible job fire him and then try dantoni. If dantoni sucks then we're screwed cause there's NO WAY in heck Phil would come back now.

It is true. At this point, we may never know and it doesn't really matter. Only time will tell now.

Dantoni has some close friends who are laker fans and they were disappointed that Phil didn't get the job. Lol so sad.

It's really interesting to me when people say stuff like this.....

Let's think about this....if you were to switch phil for mike D for their whole careers....how many rings do you think phil would have right now?

if we didn't get nash and howard do you think phil would even want the job?
Phil is a great coach no doubt, but he has also always had the greatest players in the game around him.

The only thing that bugged me was when they said phil wanted travel restriction. Thats like applying for a job but saying I don't work weekends or nights and I want to leave early on friday every other week. You could be the best employee but that's just not good for your business. Give me the guy who is going to grind out everyday to try and be better anyday

That's the worst idea i've ever heard. You already owe mike brown 11Mil and wasted games trying to learn a new system.....now lets hire phil for 10Mil and install a NEW system, if that doesn't work...lets fire him and take on another 10Mil and get the team to learn another NEW system......not only does that not make any business sense, but horrible basketball sense....

We don't need a complex system to win, we have 4 guys who are top 5 at their position in the game on the same team. Lets them do what they do and get the hell out of their way....simple/quick basketball is all you need when you have more talent then everyone else
