sigma 30mm f1.4 or canon 35mm f2.0?

i've used the sigma 30mm f1.4 with my canon t2i
i really liked it, being able to pick up the camera and shoot what's in front of me just the way it is
don't have any experience with the canon 35mm f2 but want to check it out

has anyone had to make a decision between the two lenses?
any input?

I have the 50mm f1.8 and want something with shorter focus

The Sigma is the way to go. The AF is faster, it's a faster lens, and it renders out of focus areas more smoothly.

leaning toward canon 28mm f1.8 or the sigma 30mm f1.4
prices are about same
i want to check out the 28mm in person

i see someone local selling the canon 28mm f1.8 and canon 60mm f2.8 macro lenses ....
how much would you pay for both lenses, assuming both in perfect condition?

(i'm starting to look at macro lenses because i need to take some photos of jewelry for business)

I just worry about sigma because I hear people having to return them 2 or 3 times because they are soft.

The ones for sale often mention how their lens is sharp and don't have that problem

Keep in mind, 1.4 is 2/3rd's of a stop faster than 1.8.

You don't need to use anything.

Just make sure you have good lighting and take the picture in macro mode and zoom and crop.

Just speaking to the quality of Sigma lenses, I have their 150/2.8 macro is it's a GREAT lens.

edit: Holy SH!T. I think I paid ~$600 and it's worth $1000+ now

how long ago did you buy it?

i'm pretty set on getting the canon 28mm f1.8
amazon just emailed me a 10% off code for purchases over $100
and it works fine on the lens sitting in my shopping cart
plus free 2 day shipping with prime trial
so basically makes up for the CA sales tax and save me a few bucks on top
and the price difference between the new one and a used one is about $50-60 so i will go with the new and not worry about buying someone else's problem

for the 10-22mm i will probably go with used since there is a bigger price difference between new and used
