I just got my BMW 1.4.0 last week.

Before you go in there to check/hopefully one of the wiser fanatics will chime in to confirm that P1500 code. I looked it up again and am getting conflicting information so I don't want to send you on wild goose chase.

I checked here:
http://www.my330i.com/odb2a.php

I would use the bmw scanner first to see what it tells you.

I got mine a couple of months ago. I keep it in the glove compartment along with a convertible tablet running Windows to diagnose any fault immediately.

P1500 has been said to be many things.. the fuel pump relay is easy enough to swap with the horn, might as well! Thanks for the heads up though!

I'll be trying out my scanner again. I really hope it works! My circuit board was covered in black insulation, so it was a different model than what I saw online. Did you guys have this?

Ahh. I followed the instructions online once it didn't work last time. I'll try fixing the connections!

Wait.. do I need position 2 for the 1.4.0 scanner too?!

Edit: HOLY TITS I DO. THANK GOD IT FINALLY WORKS. all electronic modules would show up with position 1 so I never thought to check.. wow. Update with specific codes soon! 30 degrees out right now in flip flops, and I'm not even mad.

Update: well, I got D3 [ 211 ] -- Idle speed control valve, mechanical fault, jammed open.

Sooo I guess the new one that I cleaned out thoroughly before installing was still messing up I have to assume? I bought it off eBay... maybe it wasn't really new.. its a Bosch, part number added up as well so it wasn't a clone. It was labelled as new from a high-rated seller.

After clearing the codes and driving home in limp mode, that's all i received, other than the "shadow" errors that would not clear, which were short circuits before catylist banks 1 and 2, and short circuit after catylist bank 2. I have no idea what these are.

I also had a lot of ABS errors, which none cleared. Steering angle offset -- CAN timeout instrument cluster -- DSC push button for over 10 seconds or error(?) -- CAN DME/DDE, engine torque not adjustable -- CAN timeout LWS.

Its all ferkin bollocks when you think about it. Its like putting a light bulb in charge of everything. Sensors don't make sense.

Hoh-hah! Puns..

I guess its all in getting performance. Its a ton better when it works. When it doesn't though, it sucks.

I guess I'll get a genuine BMW ICV and see if the new one was bad too.. I just can't believe that. Can someone run me through a detailed explanation of how the ICV is mounted onto the engine? I did not like how mine felt as I mounted it..

Also, I cleared the errors AND EWS-DME adaptations on the last one, and came up with a new shadow code, a "crankshaft position sensor, no signal" error. It was only a shadow code though, so presumably nothing to worry about(?).

I pushed it in hard but not hard enough to feel anything solid.. it felt dangerous to push harder. I hoped the bolts would pull it in more. Maybe an air leak directly after the ICV is adding more air and the computer assumes its the ICV.

Hmm .. Double check with cracks, or any leaks and make sure when you put the lower elbow to the throttle body, it's tight and on correctly bc for some reason the way it's designed it can slip easily which I hate very much, and check all the connections as well
