New e46 Owner: Airbag light wont clear, Hesitation Under 2k RPM
Hello,
Just bought an e46 and have some questions. First some info about the car: 1999 e46 328i 193k miles The air bag light is on and i cant get it to clear, I have a R5/SRS and ive plugged it in to the 20pin connector under the hood. It reads codes just fine. It shows the following codes: Table 02 Codes: 01,18,03 Ive tried to clear them with no luck. Ive even created new codes on purpose by disconnecting the entire pass seat harness... That gave me new codes 11 and 6. After reconnecting i tried to clear again with no luck. Ive also removed the center console and checked the connection on the SRS module, removed it, reconnected it. No go. Any ideas? I assume 01 is from when the previous owner had the door off for a repair. 03 because the battery was at a low voltage and 18 because of the occupancy mat. I performed the bypass on the mat thinking it may be preventing me from clearing all the codes? No luck... The hesitation problem is under load from 1.2k-2k RPMS in any gear while under load. So far ive replaced the following: Plugs lower intake boot Vac line to the valve cover from oil thingy Vac line to the SAS that was cracked Air filter (also cleaned the maf and looked at the TB) Any ideas on that one??? I didn't understand, were you able to clear the 02 11 code?

Hi. I don't see you mentioning that you checked the Airbag fuse. Jim

I have visually inspected fuse 11 but have not put a multi meter to it. Are there any other fuses that are associated with the Srs system?

FOR YOUR HESITATION: replace "suckimg jet pump" for vacuum control,( not the one in the gas tank) replace vanos seals, clear adaptations...

I already plan on replacing the disa oring and checking the valve. I guess vanos seals will be next.

Check the VANOS solenoid(s) as well, for correct operation.

If you can't sort it out yourself, or through search, you might need to hire a professional.
