I don't think I ever posted this. The new mic in the 3 is going to make concert footage soooo much better

Also picked up a steadicam for the go pro. Worth it if you want to make some smooth video footage

I was looking at those on B&H... 149 for a GoPro Stedicam... and 500+ for a 7D stedicam... fml. might as well just film everything with the GoBlack3.

I've taken some good footage with the go pro and the steadicam. It's worth the money, and light enough to carry it around.. videos come out even better after you edit it with smoothcam

Well, I'm tempted to sell my Hero 2 for whatever I can get for it and buy a Hero 3 Black, but honestly, I hardly use this thing. I mean, I wish I used it more...I wish I had a reason to use it. I think I've only ever used it in earnest for one weekend during a ski trip and it was awesome. But I don't do enough stuff that it's designed for.

What do you think we could get for the Hero 2 now? $100?

why not just keep it? have both? you never know when you might want two shots at the same time, and for 100 bucks what are you really gaining?

Has anyone compared the different Hero3s in real life, especially low light? I'm leaning towards the Black but for the same price getting two whites and having the ability to film two angles seems really cool.

Get the black and be done with it. Why buy a new one if you're getting the same sensor? There's a video somewhere of good low light comparison and the black blows the white/silver/hero2 out of the water. I'll see if I can find it.

edit: They compare audio too. The new mic is so much better.

This is a great idea and makes the shots look 10x better than the static straight forward shot you always see.

Looks terrible on the drift cars.

Seems you need a decent amount of flowing air to make it a smooth transition. Way too choppy in the drift vids
