So we did our best to seal it all up. What a of a job it is to replace that gasket. I'm glad it's done and I hope it stays leak free.

Next big project is the diff bushings.
Did you address the OPN while you had the pan off? I know it's not a big issue on the 2.5 but doesn't hurt to have it welded or even apply some red Loctite.

No. We talked about options and whether or not we should do something but when it came down to it, everything was tight and we didn't want to mess with what wasn't broken. It's so rare on 2.5s and I don't track my car and I don't overly beat on it that I figured it'd be ok.

Fair enough. Have yet to see any cases of OPN failure on 2.5s so you should be fine.

I want to address it but I just can't justify all the labour involved especially since I don't auto-x/track the car

It took us two days. We figured it was between 10-12 hours with two people working I've never had a job on the car that I've been so happy to be done with. It's a huge undertaking.

I took my DISA out to inspect it for rattling. The flap had a lot of play in it. I shook the unit and the metal pin just fell out onto the floor. I'm glad I found it loose that way instead of it getting sucked into the intake. I snapped off the flap and re-installed it. No more rattle, though I think I can hear the injectors now? Anyway, I gotta buy a new DISA before I travel back to Auburn on Saturday.

If you can wait, order one from Germanautosolutions.com it's 85$ I think. Mine came the other day. Look into it, it's very well made and supposedly won't break ever again. It's metal not plastic.

Any way you can post the installation instructions? I want to see if it's worth it. I really want to do it tomorrow, so I might just pay $220 at the dealer for a new DISA. Even BMAParts is $191, so I'll pay the extra to have the part immediately.

Nevermind, I found them on the GAS site. That's pretty simple. I think I'm gonna buy a new DISA and then do this as an upgrade later. My current DISA is very dirty anyway.

Maybe you could contact the owner of GAS...Gary, and tell him you need the part ASAP. I believe he has shipping options including 1 day air. So you could get it by Thursday? 85$ compared to 220. And then this one is life proof. As opposed to the dealers which will fail again.
