I plan on getting CAI, Headers, & Exhaust: Recommendations?
Anybody have any suggestions? I'm frugal and the car has 161xxx miles on it. m52 5 speed. I'm willing to run ebay headers + 02 sim, but I don't know what my options are for the other two components.

God just answer the guys question.. Maybe He's doing it just because he want to. Check out modbargains. They have a lot of the things you're looking for.

I'd recommend doing either exhaust or headers unless you plan to get one of those helicopter intercoms. If you have the budget for both, I'd also recommend a more high quality set of headers. The holy grail of headers on here seem to be the technik headers.
For intake get either a tube style or one with a heat shield. I wrapped my heat shield with some heat shielding tape and it pretty much locks out any engine heat. A true CAI may be better but I'd rather not worry about water getting in. Plus I have a carb sticker so I don't have to take it out for smog. |

on a 323 its prob a waste of money just like it is on any other non-m then if he still decides to do it he can use the search function which you must not be aware of in any event im trying to save op some coin . maybe he can look into a did swap and muffler delete with a cosmos intake. you sir dont have great advice

Didn't see you were from CA.
In that case, get a ECIS intake and tse3 exhaust. It's what I run and I've passed smog 3 times with that set up. And don't listen to the people saying it's a waste of money to mod your car. It's a waste of money to mod any car if that's the case. In my opinion it's not a waste if it makes YOU happy. Just know you're never going to have 800hp in your car and enjoy it. |
