Dumb rear fog lights

If you have a 2002+ coupe (not sedan) would it be possible to retrofit rear fogs? Sorry to resurrect an old thread.



p.s. No I don't want them to keep them on all the time (I know from experience that they produce a lot of glare and are an eyesore unless used in dismal weather conditions which unfortunately I seem to run into a fair bit). Even front fogs aren't supposed to be used in normal road driving although many people still use them as an extra set of headlights.

Ok sorry I was just under the impression that your DIY only worked on cars prior to MY 2002 for some reason.

sorry about bringing back such an old thread, but wouldn't it be possible to take the ghetto route and wire your fogs to the tail lights? or are the power levels different?

Wire tail lights to fog lights? The tail lights are already wired to the fog lights. When you turn the lights on, the tail lights come on. You press another button to turn the fog lights on, but the tail lights are already on.

Rear Facing Fog Lights are not tail lights. They are rarely used in the USA, and I may be incorrect on this point but I believe they are actually illegal in many parts of the USA. And, yes, the wattage of a fog light is different than a tail light.

Had a 1993 Volvo 850GLT once that had one rear fog. My guess is that it only being on one side won't make you think it's the brake lights? Interesting. Not sure if both sides look better because they sort of do look like you always have your brakes on, if the people following you are unfamiliar with your tail lamp setup.

Only some euro brands like Audi, Mercedes (bmw refuses to include them in US bound cars) and some other manufactures include them.

People here can't even use high beams/front fog lights correctly!

If any one wants the headlight control switch i will have one in a few days.Buy it but now will not do it becausecar will sell is the same one delmarco have. Once get it will put picture.
