E46 M3 Vert Cabin Noise
I've got some issues with rattles and in cabin noise with my e46 vert.
Does anyone know how to get these fixed? Very rattly and annoying. A lot of noise comes from the passenger seat/door, rattles with the back of the cabin etc. |

You need to lubricate/rejuvenate the seals

All verts have the same problem. It happens when seals go old and harden up. This causes them to rub against other windows, rubber and plastic, etc which causes the noise.
Many people recommend using gummi phlege. Also windows needs to be clean Interesting read below. http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showt...light=vert+top

i did all the cleaning, lube on all seals, weather strips. it didn't help.
i also tried putting in some foam weather stripping into the seals. it did nothing then i removed the door panel and tighten the window regulator, it removed some of the chatter there is still a lot of noise. i don't get it because my other verts (porsche 996 and 944) don't have this much noise i just lower the window a little now. seems to work but it's not ideal |

Just try interior detail your car - especially make sure stuff in glovebox and door compartments are not moving around
In my other car a glass perfume bottle was the culprit - i thought it was secure - but at high speeds it vibrates Rattles suck balls - but just clean - organise - use meguairs interior cleaning products - tighten loose parts - and good luck !

Also if you get wax and polishes in grooves and seals, it will make squeaks

It's coming from the passenger seat and the rear.

![]() I'm getting rattles a bit too lately it sounds a bit like when you go on one of the newer buses and the windows make a cracking noise. Would advise to check seat belt clips as i've found them to be one of the main culprits for rattles in mine.
