For you bench press fans, Google Scot Mendelson. He is the guy who bench presses the Harley Davidson motorcycle on the television commercial. He's one of a few guys in the world who can do a legitimate 1000 pound plus bench press.

Has close to same bench as chase

Height plays a huge role though, I'm 6'0 and carry it in my limbs... so my deadlift has always been my strong point, bench my weakest. Just physics... more area to cover when pushing.

Would love a 225lb bench within two years though!

I unusually just work up to 225 and do that 6-8 times, in the past few months I got up to 275.

I don't follow these techniques really, but maybe some of you guys could benefit. Either way, Dave is entertaining.

This surprises me each and every time I read it. I can't believe that I can significantly out-lift you on a lift. You kill me in nearly everything else.

Haha yeah dude bb bench is actually really bad for my throwing motion. I do db bench but I twist it at the bottom focusing on the delts. Don't ever work chest as it doesn't do much for me personally

I can understand that. I'll just relish in it. It's about the only thing that I can beat you in. Sooooo.....ummmm....keep hating BB bench presses. Don't steal my thunder. LOL!

I use to think the same way, but plenty of tall guys pushing lots of weight.

it depends on a lot more things, but it is easy to put truth to the stereotype that the guys with the shorter arms seem to be able to do the most bench.

Not really. To a certain extend, but not a "huge role"...blaming poor bench numbers is a way to make an excuse and blame it on something else.

Your height isn't your problem. It's your workouts (..and quite possibly your form)!

Limb length definitely has a lot to do with bench strength.

The hardest part of the bench is getting it off your chest, not locking it out, so no, it isn't the most important factor.
