CAA as a whole has a mixed reception in the tactical community. It's an Israeli company, which tends to make some people wince. For some reason, they have decided that they want to make components that can do 9 different things at once. Their products tend to get a bit "busy" in the design sometimes.

I don't think they're worth the extra expense over a PMAG, but it wouldn't hurt anything to pick one or two up to give them a test.
I think I'll throw that on my project list for 2013. Beat the piss out of a couple CAA mags and see if they take it or not.

I bought their cheap stubby grip for my AR, it only does one thing lol.
I'll look forward to hearing what you find if you pick one of those mags up.

EDIT: saw the reviews on that site. all 5 gave it a 1 star POS rating. oh well, cool idea.

As for lube I use Mobil 1. Works perfectly and have more than enough in the garage. I was going to try the slip2000 just haven't bought any. Have put close to 1k rounds without cleaning and not one jam using steel brown bear. If that isn't a test I don't know what is....

Just bought a cheap PSA M4 build from Black friday. Going to run a H2 buffer. Also bought a mod 3 GFH and BCM BCG. Total came out to like 550. Will be a nice backup to my more expensive build that got out of control.

Full synthetic motor oil works pretty well in moderate to warm conditions. However, its weakness lies with cold weather performance. If you only shoot in warmer weather or indoors, it's not an issue. If you shoot in cold weather or cold climates (upper midwest, Alaska, etc.), it is a problem because it thickens up when below freezing temps. 0w30 at -5 is like molasses.

Something to think about is that synthetic motor oil is toxic. When you shoot, you are getting lubricant sprayed on you. You can also spill it if using it indoors. Never good if you have pets or kids. Also, with what we're finding out about longterm health hazards like carcinogens, I'm always wary of using chemicals that are toxic. Slip2000 and Frog Lube are non-toxic. Frog Lube is organic plant-based, and it's actually edible.

What's the difficulty installing an ambi selector? What are the big names in this sector? I remember I was looking at them months ago, but I forgot to bookmark the page.

I love my bad ass ambi safety. I really like the regular/short lever combo. Another to consider would be the noveske/magpul short throw

Install took 5-10 min and probably 2 minutes for somebody who isn't retarded like me. Every gun i build will get the badass safety from now on

What do you mean reg/short combo? One side you use regular length, then the other the short one?

Has the election really depleted stock of so many parts recently,or is there a normal cycle of the market? I was excited to pay $85 for the CH just so I could cancel my 3 week back order. Same for a Daniel Defence BCG,so I got a Failzero instead.

I am running the Noveske 60 degree ambi selector, and it's exceptional. It uses a Magpul selector, and you can get it in either single side or ambidextrous. I ran it pretty extensively in a TRICON course in September, and was thoroughly impressed with it. I heavily work my safety with rifle work, and so far it's been solid. I've probably run the selector close to 1000 times now.

This seems...interesting.

I'm not really sure but this is the first i'd heard about it so i figured i'd post it and maybe somebody on here has used it

I read something about that somewhere. It's supposed to be for cqb I believe, entering houses, etc. Maybe I'm wrong.
