In a few weeks I too will be working on my Sprint Booster / Sport Button DIY-mod...
I just acquired my Sprint Booster at an awesome price and will be planning this awesome mod Already have the button panel w/ sport button on hand... Looks just like this!![]() Sport Button mod: ![]() ![]() I'll have to get some JB Weld for part of the mod.... ![]() Then once I get my sprint booster I will be modding like this: ![]() ![]() ![]() Everything seems to be straightforward though so I just need to set aside some time to do this right. All I have to do is get the JB Weld, electrical wiring, and shrink wrap and begin this project in a few weeks when I have some time aside from my college work... I hope to have the same exact results as John has in his ZHP Yeah....I think I will be getting this installed long before I have my carbon fiber engine covers done...![]() The ZHP should be even more fun to drive afterwards!!!

OP, what was your impression when adding the AFE and the shark injector?

I find my ZHP more responsive since doing the Shark injector and adding my aFe CAI but in a week when I add my Sprint Booster the car will be much more fun to drive. Well worth the money I spent to get all three
The CAI by itself really doesn't do much except for the sound which I like. If you are looking for more hp gains then you have to do a tune, CAI, and exhaust and even that won't give you lots...but for daily driving I think the best bang for the buck will be felt with the Sprint Booster. I have heard from many who already have it saying I will really love it. Give me about two weeks since I'll be adding the Sport Button mod to my Sprint Booster and I will get back with my impressions.

Subbing, good stuff...
Is there any way to determine if my headlights are burned without disassembly? For some reason I thought '03's didn't have this issue, but mine sure seem dimmer than I recall when I bought her 7 years ago... BTW, I've read that you can also put a first aid box under the drivers seat (I have one under the passenger). Its a great spot to hide things (radar detector, etc). I need to get a second one...

![]() Both my ZKW headlights had severely burned out projectors and I had to remove and replace them with OEM M3 AL projector assemblies. Here's the DIY I made when I replaced my ZKW projector bowls... http://www.zhpmafia.com/forums/showthread.php?5445-ZKW-Burnt-Projector-Bowl-Repair-Retrofit-DIY When I took out my old ZKW projector bowles they looked like this, clearly showing why my light output has been reduced by close to 50%!!! ![]() The OEM M3 AL projector bowls I used looked like this ![]() ![]() Regarding the first aid box, yes I agree it is an awesome addition so that you can put things like a radar detector or iPod inside... Also a great place to put a first aid kit inside...![]()

Tonight I decided to begin my Sport Mod project. Got part way there...now waiting for the JBWeld to harden up so I can complete the sport button mod portion....overall not too hard of a project but we'll see when I go to hook everything up over the weekend...
![]() Here are a few pics of the project I started... Starting with my Sprint Booster ![]() The part from my Sprint Booster kit before I molested it for the Sport Button mod... ![]() ![]() I used a small jewler's flat-blade screw driver to pry the backing off of the Sprint Booster switch enclosure...just take your time when doing this so you don't damage anything... ![]() the switch assembly taken apart to allow access to components to be taken out... ![]() My sport button taken from the panel switch assembly... ![]() Sport Button taken apart...there are fragile components so when taking this switch apart, take your time and do things slowly.... ![]() Then I took the led and switch off of the sport button circuit card. These components are small so adequate lighting should be used with the proper tools or you risk damaging this circuit board. Patience and use of the right tools will allow you to take these components off easily ![]() I had to look over my friend John's DIY a few times to make sure I was positioning the two (Green/Red) LEDs properly. Wasn't too hard to do...Like in John's DIY, I marked one of the LEDs with a sharpie. ![]() The sprint booster switch assembly with LEDs and switch removed... ![]() I then wired up the sprint booster switch assy just like William did for John's mod... ![]() Mine looks like this after shrink wrapping ![]() Tomorrow I will check my sport button to make sure all components are set when I get home from work and begin final wiring and put everything together... Going to try and wire mine up exactly the same way as shown in John's DIY... ![]() When I put everything together after doing this mod I plan to route the internals this way... ![]() My Sport Button mod project as it stands tonight... ![]()

Did you test the sprint booster? Is so, how were the results?

Haven't tested my sprint booster. Doing the sport button mod and then I will be hooking everything up. I'm sure the difference will be immediately noticed!

This morning I hooked up my Sprint Booster to the car and connected the modded sport button switch to see how things are working. First I have to say for those who are on the fence of getting Sprint Booster....do it!!! I was blown away by the responsiveness of the gas pedal with Sprint Booster connected. I mean my ZHP is so much more fun to drive while in "race" setting but more than adequate in the "moderate" middle setting. I should have done this a long time ago....best $150 I have spent thus far
I set up mine so that the Green LED is my "Race" setting....Green for go... ![]() Man!!! I love my ZHP even more now... ![]()
