Had a burger from In N' Out Animal Style when I was out in California in the beginning of the summer. Was really good. Wish I had known you could get the fries animal style also.

Even though it was really good, I still think Five Guys has an edge. Both are great burgers though so win-win for everyone

I was actually going to come in here to post that most burgers from a reputable steakhouse (M&C is an exception) or a good bar will usually crush the competition in the burger category.

Julian's in Providence had a burger that was topped with thick bacon, smoked mctinosh apply, creme fraiche and pickled red radish I think... puts any burger to shame. 5 guys/in&out... they are good substitutes to fast food burgers but there are so many better burgers out there.

I have yet to try In n Out tho.. I am looking forward to it next time i come to SoCal.

I still don't understand how people can think Five Guys is better Overpriced, standard-issue slop burger. I love a good slop burger, but there is absolutely nothing unique about Five Guys. Good, but nothing special.

I also don't see how anyone can compare any of these places to non-fast food. It's pointless... yes, there are better burgers than all these places. You're missing the point.

Oh, and fvck animal style and its pickles!

@ snuggles.

dude i feel the same way about five gheys. their burgers aren't all that great to me. tastes pretty much like any regular burger. unfortunately, five gheys is the only thing they have here in WA. and it's about 30 mins away from me too.
can't wait to move back to San Diego.

Live in Florida but have family in the bay area so i've been there quite a bit. Double Double, extra sauce no tomato animal fries and a strawberry shake.

I like the 5guys cajun fries a little better but like the in n out burger 10x more

Oh how I love in n out. I went there over the summer when I went to Cali. Oh was I in heaven. The east coast has nothing remotely close to a burger from there.

I had it last night. Wasn't even hungry but I still loved it. Something about it never gets old.

#2, no onions, with lemonade.

If I feel like making my arteries clog with fat, #1 animal style burger, animal style fries, and a chocolate shake.
