Hmm, so CARB compliant catalytic converter for a "1985 190E 2.3" is Magnaflow part number 38004, and the CARB compliant part number for a 1991 318is is 36004, both are dimensionally the same. I wonder if a smog shop would notice that one digit difference in the part number?

Then I could spend $124 for a cat that would work on two cars!

Maybe I'll just scrape that one digit with piece of concrete to make things harder to tell apart.
