What fits between models?

Im about to buy some E46 320D but none of them have the interior/exterior combo i want.
So, what bumpers, seats and so fits in them all?

most of the parts are interchangeable, but usually only with sedans and sedans, coupes with coupes...

I think the front seats may be universal.

Typically yes, sedan to sedan and coupe to coupe. There are a few parts that are interchangeable like seats that were stated. What are you trying to swap?

Why are all on interchangable seats... Yes, you can put coupe seat in sedan, but if you put sedan seat in a coupe, you will have pretty hard time getting in the rear passenger seat...

Lots of interior bits are fully interchangeable.

Center Console
Compartments
Steering wheels (airbags will vary)
Shift Knobs

Bumpers are pretty easy to get, as there are aftermarket options that are made for either non-M sedans, and coupes; the only catch is that in some cases you may have to pick up a different mounting tabs, depending on whether or not you end up with a facelift e46, or the original "Pre-Facelift" variant.

I see you have just joined us here, be advised; the first thing you should be looking into is maintenance...read the stickies at the top of the thread list.

Things you should get very interested in:

Common Oil Leaks
The e46 Cooling System
Suspension

Best of Luck!

Convertibles seats have the seat belts built in. So you can swap those if you feel like rocking 4 seat belts up front like a boss.
