How Does My Engine Look?

Hello gents,
Getting my VANOS seals put in today. Dropped off the car at my mechanics place because of classes, but he was kind enough to send me a picture of my engine. What do you gents think? I personally think it looks in decent shape for an 11 year old engine.

I'm the second owner of the car and I've babied it since the day I bought it 2 years ago and I try my best to keep it in top shape.

Honest opinions please and no hard feelings if you have something negative to say. Yes the engine bay is dirty, but I'm not sure how to go about cleaning that out (my first car). With winter here, I'm less tempted to stand for hours to clean it out, so that can be my summer project.

My bad! The car has 196,753km (122,257 miles) on it.

looks like BMW oil wasn't used (which means an alternative was used) and those are not usually pricier (GC/M1 0-40) alternatives. still looks good though.

Since I took ownership, I've been using BMW oil. Can't control or change what the previous owner did though unfortunately.

that's good. bmw oil leaves a reddish tint to the engine from what i gather

BMW oil is mediocre at best in an M54.

Pretty sure it's Castrol synthetic. Nothing mediocre or inadequate about it.
