When I used to live in Traverse City, I had a buddy who took his turbo Audi S4 to Sears to have the snows put on. I later saw the car and through Sears low IQ troglodyte techs, the S4 had fallen off the lift. There wasn't a straight body panel on the car. I guess the moral of the story is be glad they didn't really get it wrong and irreparably damage your sled.

100% agree, you can get decent cheap wheels that will pay for themselves in labor costs. Hell, I do my own tire changes and I still bought other wheels just because it was easier

Although this is a pretty bad I can understand that someone makes a mistake when they are busy and doing something so routine. You may be the only person who stretches tire on their snows though!

Buy my Jetta and maybe I will...

These wheels will eventually be the dedicated snows. That won't happen until the car is fully paid off though. When I bought it it came with the brand new snows so there was no reason to go out looking for something else. I kinda wish I was still in MA so I could just get a friend to let me use the equipment and mount them myself.

Reading all this makes me so happy to know I have access to a tire machine and basically an entire stocked garage.

Granted I have a friend(owns shop) who can do it all and doesn't screw up but, the point is I have a hard time trusting anyone to work on my stuff.
