When I used to live in Traverse City, I had a buddy who took his turbo Audi S4 to Sears to have the snows put on. I later saw the car and through Sears low IQ troglodyte techs, the S4 had fallen off the lift. There wasn't a straight body panel on the car. I guess the moral of the story is be glad they didn't really get it wrong and irreparably damage your sled.

I guess if all you are doing is changing tires all day it can all get a bit repetitive. I suspect the guy was on auto pilot. Did you not notice it when you picked it up? |

Next time do it right: buy a separate set of wheels for the snows as well!

Although this is a pretty bad I can understand that someone makes a mistake when they are busy and doing something so routine. You may be the only person who stretches tire on their snows though! |

I had a shop do that last year. I still think they did it just to see if I'd notice. Didn't go back there again...

These wheels will eventually be the dedicated snows. That won't happen until the car is fully paid off though. When I bought it it came with the brand new snows so there was no reason to go out looking for something else. I kinda wish I was still in MA so I could just get a friend to let me use the equipment and mount them myself. Last edited by landstuhltaylor; 11-30-2012 at 05:59 PM. |

Reading all this makes me so happy to know I have access to a tire machine and basically an entire stocked garage.
Granted I have a friend(owns shop) who can do it all and doesn't screw up but, the point is I have a hard time trusting anyone to work on my stuff. |

You would think that they would have thought to themselves that it looked way different than when it came in

Saw this once before on a Benz CLK. Except he was actually driving on the highway. Ignorant or just plain stupid, not sure which.
