* What did you do to/for your E46 today? *

changed the tensioner pulley,idle pulley,belts and radiator

i took my kidney grills out and pained them, hope they last and dont get stone chipped :S and refurbed my interiour handles

Installed Eagle Eye tails now waiting for my Orion v2's.

Bought full HK sound set while waiting on all my other parts! Hope this weekend is going to be a busy one!

Did you paint your door panels also? I painted my grills months ago and yet to see a single difference in them but i work nights also so not much chance for flying rocks when you're the only one on the road haha

I washed it, and figured out section 2 is either a de-resonated OE piece of aftermarket

hi no i didnt paint the door pannals, one of the cars owners must of worn wrings as the handles were all scrabbed and ruiend and the passanger side. It had been drivinng me crazy as the rest of the interiour is in pretty good nick, okay thats good news about the grills i put 2 coats of primer on 2 coats of paint and 2 coats of lacquer on think this will stand up to the stone chips?

Bought an "Oil Extractor" from a Marine place (Similar to MityVac 7400).
Sucked out e46 oil and replaced with LL-01 Castrol 0w-30 and a new Mann filter kit.
Replaced Cabin filter, updated logbooks, reset SIA and did most of the other visual checks on Mx1 schedule.

I think I like the oil extractor. I am not sure it saves any time over jacking and draining, but it is easy and very clean which is nice.
No more fishing for wrenches and washers in the bottom of the oil drain pan.

Put my new pads and rotors on and properly bedded them. I don't think the last pads were properly bedded because these pads are so quiet now. ATE pads and Zimmerman rotors.

For those curious it took about 4 hours including bedding. I didn't have a single stuck bolt. The only thing was that the caliper carrier bolts are closer to 5/8 inch than 17mm. My 17mm rounded one of them off, but the 5/8 fit almost perfectly.

Yea that should last. I only put about 3 coats of paint and that's it. Mine was spur of the moment

Yh same here did my door handles and had paint left over im not happy with my drivers door handle though, think i am goin to need to take it off, any ideas how?

Not a clue sorry. IM thinking of painting my windows trim soon. Chrome is nasty as hell looking and i like the look of the black chrome. What you think people wet sand 2000 & 3000 grit then primer then paint then clear?

I need to attempt to polish my chrome. I'm doing a big detailing project over the christmas holiday. Anyone know any techniques or materials to use?

Replaced the FCABs with some Polly ones, Clunk's gone and much less movement in the front end. Also fixed the rear bumper sag finally!

Picked up a set of H&R Race Springs from Tock172. He tried to code some things for my car, but we couldn't establish communication with certain parts of the ecu.

Those are the ones I got, I was a little worried at first since they were on eBay, but when I got them they were pretty solid. Ill give you an update in about a week or so when I pull off the skid plate and look at them again.

What all did you use to pain them? as in what kind of paint and what not. I've been wanting to do this, to give them a matte finish. Yours look damn good!
