My Ride: 2003 M3 Vert
Dynavin: Do I need a signal processor?

I am in the process of upgrading my sound system in my 2003 M3 vert which now currently sounds like crap. My car came with a single DIN Kenwood installed, and I hated the way it looked and worked, so I replaced it with a Dynavin (the most current one the D99+).

And now I have purchased the following to replace my current speakers:

Boston Acoustics Pro60 SE

JL 8W7 (making a small sealed box that will fire into the ski pass)

Alpine PDX-V9 5 Channel (100x4, 500x1)

Ok, I have a couple of questions but the first one being is:

1.) I have read about the outputs of the Dynavin are not very good, am I going to need a signal processor? I obviously want the cleanest sound possible, but this is a vert, I know it is not going to best sounding system. I know the Audison Bit One is highly recommended, but I really can't afford that now, not to mention it costs about half of what I spent already. Should I be ok with one of these:

AudioControl Matrix Plus:

or maybe step up to this so I have EQ controls?
AudioControl EQS

Or should I just try it without one and see how it goes?

2.) From what I am reading, it is better to go with the active crossovers in the amp vs. using the crossovers that came with the speakers. I know I can setup the Alpine in a bandpass configuration (I will not have any rear fill), can you tell me what I should be setting my crossover points to?

3.) Last question is in regards to the installation of the front midbass drivers. I do plan to cut the door because from what I read that is the only way to get good midbass out of the speakers. Is it really worth making a baffle to mount them to the door itself or can I get by with mounting the to the door panel, as in here:
