Don't subway platforms usually have an overhanging platform so if you end up on the tracks and a train is coming, you can drop and roll under the overhang to get out of the way?

I almost hope this platform doesn't, cuz it would suck for this guy's family to know he was so close to a survival tool but couldn't/didn't get to it.

100yr old system, probably doesn't have that.

Seems its real, pretty shocking. Photographer is closer to the guy than the train is (I realize trains move faster than people...)

that description was a direct quote from the news...so if you took it that way get your little pencil and paper out and write a nicely educated letter to the station....

if i was looking for a suspect i wouldnt assume anything. yes i would bet that about 80% of people with dreads are black. but thats quite a detail to skip over.

It has indeed happened before. I think about this when I use public transportation, and position myself accordingly on the platform.

that one went right over your head too lol . but yeah honestly, terrible to think i could have been right next to the guy. i cant believe no one saved this man. maybe it just happened all too fast

No worse than the guy who took this. This shot won him a pulitzer and he later killed himself over the guilt of all the death he chronicled.

sad , but , if you are going to get into it with a nutcase on a sub way platform , at least make sure he is between you and the tracks, kinda his own fault.....

doesn't make the other guy any less of a scumbag tho


call me paranoid, when i'm in the city i try to keep people between me and the tracks on a platform

The guy who took the "picture" was actually recording the whole fight and was recording while the other guy pushed him off the platform.. knew the train was coming and just continued to stand and video tape him struggle to get up then proceed to not make it and get smashed...
