Who knows how true this is.. but it is possible:

http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/m...j6cTeyxHns2VNP

"Post freelance photographer R. Umar Abbasi - who had been waiting on the platform of the 49th Street station - ran toward the train, repeatedly firing off his flash to warn the operator."I just started running, running, hoping that the driver could see my flash," said Abbasi, whose camera captured chilling shots of Suk's tragic fight for his life.
The train slowed, but a dazed and bruised Han still wound up hopelessly caught between it and the platform as it came to a halt.
A shaken Abbasi said the train "crushed him like a rag doll."

Just saying

PS: OP wears women's sweaters
Certainly raises some valid questions. Dreads had his back to the wall, not cornering the guy or taking an aggressive stance towards him, and "please leave me alone" is pretty un-aggressor language.

Obviously not enough shown in the vid to figure out the whole thing, but it sinks the mean-dread-guy-goes-after-innocent-other-guy-without-warning scenario.

Looks like we now know why the photographer didn't help, he was obviously thinking about money instead of someone's life.

Quote from CNN

"One Twitter user questioned why someones first instinct would be not to help the man, but instead to "snap a photo of him about to die and sell it to the NY Post."
Reached by CNN, Abbasi was adamant that he would talk to the network only for pay.

I'll need to see the whole video, it doesn't necessarily sink it though.

Did they get into a fight, and the guy end up falling into the railway? Or was he standing there later, and eventually pushed down without warning?

Why? The photographer didn't throw the guy on the tracks. There were other people there, too. None of them did anything.

49 flashes ? Does that mean he had time to take 49 pictures ?
How long does it take to take 49 pictures and how long does it take to run 15 feet, grab a man's arm and say........hey buddy let me help you up......

--------------------
The photographer who shot the New York Post's controversial front-page photo of a man about to be killed by an oncoming subway train defended his actions on Wednesday, saying there was "no way" he could have saved the victim.

-----------------
From the periphery of my eye I saw a body fly onto the tracks," Abbasi said. "There was a collective gasp, and that caught my total attention." The photographer said he fired off his flash 49 times. "If you look carefully into the eyes of the conductor you see two lights," Abbasi said. "I think those are my flash lights that are being reflected."

--------------------------

Abbasi, who was not paid by the "Today" show for the sitdown, said he has already licensed some of the photos he shot during the incident. He added: "If this thing happened again, with the same circumstances, whether I had a camera or not and I was running toward him there is no way I could've rescued Mr. Han."

Agree that we'd need to see the whole vid. Dreads may still be the bad guy. But "please leave me alone" constitutes warning, so yes, it does sink it.

Not walking away at that point certainly doesn't justify killing someone, but the dead guy (if thats him) certainly knew he was in a confrontation at that point and appears to have had the opportunity to exit the situation.

Maybe dreads was following him down the platform saying "please leave me alone". Could be a million things.

'The suspect, who has eight prior arrests in the city and a lengthy rap sheet in Pennsylvania, told cops he and Han “bumped into each and started arguing before getting to the turnstiles” and then “continued the confrontation” on the platform, sources said.

“He said the victim was harassing him and that he pushed him onto the tracks,” a source said.

“I begged him to leave me alone, and he wouldn’t,” Davis allegedly told police. “He wouldn’t stay away, and I pushed him.”'

Diffusion of responsibility. No one helped because they all assumed that someone else would.
