I haven't heard you this frustrated about your car before. Did it just start running poorly?

I've put over $2500 into in the past 9 months and it keeps on costing more. I'm just over it.

I believe my cosmetic condition should raise my asking price.

My car first left me stranded when it was 6 months old. I custom ordered it. bought it new so I know it was never abused yet it has not been reliable at all. I put up with it because I like the styling but I'm finally fed up with it.

Basically. Lol.

I'm sure if it went through 3 mechanics, they probably checked the basics. Things I would have tested:
-intake leaks
-fuel pressure
-injectors
-ignition coils, plugs, and harness
-DISA valve
-ICV
-Coolant temperature sensor
-Manifold vacuum (CCV test)

Apart from those universal problems, I would have also suggested testing oil pressure. Assuming everything above checked out, I would suspect the hydraulic lifters got gunked up. Some M52s and M54s had that issue and even the newer N52s had that problem before going through replacement lifters and eventually a head revision.

Cold compression would look weak and/or maybe take a while to build up with collapsed lifters, too.

I've been told possible gunked lifters. Everything else was either checked PR replaced.

Like today when it runs worse than usual I turn off the ignition and back on and its fine.

Once the DME detects enough misfires it will deactivate the misfiring cylinder(s), which will give you rough running. When you shut it off and turn it back on, the misfire is gone because the lifter has already built up pressure.
