Tools for a pulley and belt job

I figure $30 isn't much to do the job right. I'll at least get 2-3 uses out of it anyway.

That's a ton of room to work with compared with some other projects. The steering guibo comes to mind as my most cramped project so far. It's only rivaled by the driver side control arm inner ball joint nut.

I'd argue and say the A/C FSR replacement is the back bender so far. But, I may change my mind when I eventually do the steering guibo...

That was another shitty one. You can't really get a good position to hold yourself up so you just end up getting a back cramp. Also there is the lower intake boot hose clamps that are impossible to get to. I failed to reach mine when I tried to remove it. I think I'm gonna buy new clamps and cut the old ones off. The current position is ridiculous.

I know exactly what you mean. It was a pain but I eventually got it and turned it around so its easier to remove for next time.

So all I need is the 32mm wrench and something to hold the WP?

Technically.. Yes, that's really it. So, if you have a thin/flat enough 32mm wrench and "something" to prevent the WP from spinning, you're good to go. Once you use that special tool once, you'll get the idea of what needs to be done.

I just don't recommend whacking the wrench (Ever) to loosen the Fan clutch nut. But to each their own.

Ok so I got myself a borrowed 32mm wrench. Now Im told that a thick, not to thick tho, long screw driver and I can hold the WP in place with that correct?

You can.
All you're trying to do now is to prevent the waterpump pulley from turning while you unscrew the fan clutch nut... so whatever you find that can do that should work.

I have no idea really. I have been an active forum member on probably 25-30 forums using vBulletin over the years and I never noticed it. I guess I never needed it until now. Most of my other forums were for gaming or CAD stuff, so I was usually only addressing one person at a time.

First year of ownership I probably spent around 1500 dollars, with one big job left (suspension) and after that, just regular maintainance cost.

Hitting the wrench and shocking the nut free as opposed to holding the WP pulley and smoothly breaking the nut free.
